He may not be Brad Richards but may be a decent stopgap for the second-line centre position. Obviously that would mean moving the "Mac-Russian Line" to the top, with Grabovski taking over the #1 centre position for the Year. Hopefully they can get a contract done today before he signs somewhere else for more money. The way I see it, this would give the young centres the Maple Leafs currently have time to develop, i.e Joe Colborne - Nazem Kadri. Are they playoff bound with Connoly, I would say no, but anything can happen. With some good, consistent goaltending and a couple break-through years, we may be able to sneak in come April.
